THIS IS AN ACTION SHOOT
Unlicensed shooters may attend to spectate, but are NOT PERMITTED to participate.
Practical Pistol is the SSAA Shoot similar to IPSC.
General Information
Practical Pistol competitions are shot on the 200m Pistol Range. Three separate courses of fire (stages) are provided. A stage brief will be provided before each stage begins.
For your score to qualify for the end of year trophy all three stages will need to be shot. Days resulting in delays (rain etc,) where not all shooters are able to complete all 3 stages, only the completed stages will count. Shoot Captains will announce this prior to competitors leaving for the day.
The RF competition is scheduled to start at 12:00 and will commence following the completion of the CF shoot and use the same layout (where possible).
NOTE: Shooters wishing to attend both Rimfire & Centerfire matches are reminded they will need to book for both, and that only 1 shoot can be counted towards your yearly attendance record per day.
Targets
Practical Pistol is a speed shooting competition that consists of both paper and steel targets
Ammunition Required
Centerfire class B semi-auto or revolver, typically 9mm, 38 Super, 38 Special, 357 Sig, 357 Magnum
It is recommended that you bring at least 100 rounds of ammunition.
Additional Equipment Required
This competition requires the use of multiple magazines (5) and a holster.
If you want to use a holster you must show your holster accreditation to the shoot captain when signing on.
Maximum Attendance
The attendance limit for this competition will be 25 competitors.
Bookings for Pistol Competitions
Bookings open for registration exactly 7 days before the shoot is scheduled to start.
Scores
Members without a holster will receive a 2-second penalty per stage. This ensures inclusion for members who have not yet completed the holster course and allows members who forget their holster to still submit scores for monthly competitions and the end-of-year trophy.
