Holster Course

The SSAA Holster Proficiency course provides SSAA(QLD) State approved training and assessment in the safe handling of a Cat H centerfire revolver or semi-auto handgun when drawing from and returning to a competition holster.

The course starts in a classroom environment with information relating to holster requirements and use, we then go through a dry-fire practice of the entire course of fire.  The final stage of the course is a practical live-fire assessment on the pistol range.

• The course focus is SSAA(QLD) State approved competitions.
• Only class B centerfire firearms can be used.
• At this time SSAA(Brisbane) is only offering Semi-Auto & Double Action (modern) Revolver.
• Cat H rimfire (22LR) competitors do not draw from a holster.

Cost: $30.00
Venue: SSAA(Brisbane) Indoor Air Range.
Duration: 2-3 hours 
Equipment: Attendees must provide thier own equipment and be familiar with its operation.

• Centerfire Category H firearm (Class B only).
• Your own holster rig (Belt & Holster).
• Ammunition - at least 48 rounds. No FMJ ammo to be used.
• Cat H license with PC1 endorsement.
• SSAA Membership card.

Each booking is only for 1 action type (Semi-Auto, Revolver)

To attend this course you must already have your Category H licence.
