THIS IS AN ACTION SHOOT. UNLICENSED SHOOTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ATTEND.

General Information:

The SSAA 3-Gun competition is a practical speed shooting event for rifles, shotguns and handguns.

Three separate stages will be provided in each competition. Stages are set with assorted steel or paper targets and will require the shooter to safely transition between firearm types during each course of fire.

The stages are similar to those used in IPSC or ICORE type competitions except that all shooting will be from within defined shoot boxes.

A detailed stage brief will be provided to all competitors prior to each stage.

 

Firearm Types:

  • Any type of QLD Category A or B centerfire rifle (or rimfire rifle) is permitted.
  • Any type of QLD Category H, Class B, centerfire pistol is permitted.
  • Any type of QLD Category A or B shotgun is permitted.
  • Any standard sights, red dots or magnifying scopes are permitted on any firearm.

Ammunition Required:

  • No FMJ
  • No Magnum
  • Pistol calibre rifles preferred (rimfire rifles accepted)
  • Cast projectiles in any caliber are OK
  • Softpoint projectiles in .223 or 300 BLK no ammunition with high penetration capability.
  • Shotshell maximum size #6, NO STEEL SHOT, Target rounds only, NO slugs or field ammo.

It is recommended that you bring at least 50 rounds for both rifle and shotgun, and 100 rounds for pistol.

 

Competitor Eligibility, all must be met:

  • Category A&B firearms license with endorsement SC1.
  • Category H firearms license with endorsement PC1.

Competitors must demonstrate safe handling throughout the event. Shooters unable to safely complete the match may be asked to withdraw.

Other Equipment:

  • Holsters may be used by any member as secure storage to carry an unloaded handgun.
  • Members with holster accreditation may place a loaded pistol into their holster where permitted in the course of fire.
  • Rifles will be stored in vertical racks and MUST have chamber flags inserted.
  • Shotguns will be stored in vertical racks and MUST have chamber flags inserted or the action broken.

Maximum Attendance:

Attendance is currently capped at 16 competitors.
