Changes to our admin team

Published Wed 23 Jul 2025

The recent birth of Michael's and Anne's first child has brought about significant changes at home. The move to Mango Hill has also increased travel time, and with the new family responsibilities, his priorities have naturally shifted to find work closer to home, which offers
a better work-life balance during this exciting stage of their lives.

Deidre and Michael made a great team in the Administration Office over the past 10 years.

With Michael's departure & changes within the club's operations, Deidre will also be leaving employment with the branch after almost 20 years in the office. This will open the doors for a new start and direction for all, and we thank both Deidre & Michael for their dedicated
service.

We will farewell them both on August 1st and wish them all the best for the future.

From Deidre
Recently, there have been several changes within the club's operations, and management is taking a different direction. Michael and I made a good team in the Administration Office, and with his departure, I too will be leaving. This will open the doors for a new start and
direction.

I am very proud of the contributions I have made during my time at SSAA Brisbane. Prior to becoming an employee, I was involved with other volunteers in the running of the extremely successful Junior Section, which SSAA Queensland recognised with a Meritorious Service
Award. After finishing with the Junior Section in June 2006, I was invited to work in the Administration Office and have remained a dedicated employee since that time.

I will miss assisting members; however, I look forward to seeing them on the range & I wish SSAA Brisbane continued success and appreciate the support over the years.

From Michael
After nearly a decade of dedicated service to SSAA Brisbane, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from my current role. The recent birth of my first child and a move further north to Mango Hill have brought about significant changes in my personal life. With increased
travel time and new family responsibilities, my priorities have naturally shifted.

As such, I’ve decided to explore opportunities closer to home that offer a better work-life balance during this important stage of life. This decision hasn’t been made lightly, as the club has been a significant part of both my professional and personal journey for many years.

I’m proud of the contributions I’ve made during my time at SSAA Brisbane, including my voluntary efforts, which were recognised when I was named Dedicated Club Member in 2022, and later as Club Person of the Year in 2024. I’m sincerely grateful for the experiences,
friendships, and knowledge I have gained along the way, and I remain committed to the sport & am looking forward to staying involved as a club member.

I wish SSAA Brisbane continued success and thank everyone for their support and camaraderie over the years.
