Safety & Competency Training program

THIS IS A TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SSAA BRISBANE  PISTOL SECTION MEMBERS ONLY.  IT IS NOT A TRY-SHOOTING EXPERIENCE.

This shoot is to help new unlicensed shooters in the initial phase of their Pistol Section Membership meet their requirements for their license application and complete the Competency and Safety Training Program. This course of fire has a mix of several skills that can be used in competition at this range. As this shoot is only to be attended by unlicensed shooters each shooter will require a licensed supervisor at the firing line with them while handling the firearms. The Club has a team of Experienced Volunteers to provide this training.

SSAA Brisbane has created the Trainee Shoot Program to better manage the Competency Program that has been around for many years to ensure all members are given the same training in the safe handling of firearms.

Trainee Pistol Shoot is conducted on the following days each month and is available to book from 6 pm 2 days prior to the shoot.

  • 1st Thursday Starting at 6:00 pm. (arrive no later than 5:30 pm)
  • 3rd Thursday Starting at 6:00 pm. (arrive no later than 5:30 pm)
  • 4th Wednesday Starting at 6:00 pm. (arrive no later than 5:30 pm)
